Feb 11

TechPitch 4.5 is the Dragon’s Den for UK tech startups. Except it’s run by 2Pears and happens at TechHub on Silicon Roundabout in east London.

On the night, 10 new businesses are given the chance to pitch their idea to a panel of experts and investors. A winner in chosen, given a bottle of bubbly and exposure as the startup with the most potential.

The winner of the first #4pt5 pitching session was Lee Shepstone of EngageSciences. They help marketers build and publish social web marketing campaigns.

Other pitchers included user generated gamers Namaste, YearBookMachine and tailored diet + exercise plan app Oobafit.

There was an impressive panel including TechCrunch Europe editor Mike Butcher, Katy Turner from Eden Ventures and startup lawyer Danvers Baillieu. We asked them the big questions… what makes a perfect pitch, what investors are looking for and startup mistakes to avoid.
