Freeserve co-founder Rob Wilmot speaks to local entrepreneurs at NottTuesday – for TechFluffTV

Jan 18

Rob Wilmot is a bit of a startup pin-up. He was co-director of Freeserve back in 1998, the Internet Service Provider backed by the Dixon Stores Group. After floating on the London Stock Exchange, Rob became one of the youngest directors of a FTSE 100 company at the age of 29. Rob exited Freeserve after the completion of a £1.6 billion sale to Wanadoo in 2001.

Since then he’s invested in a range of tech and media companies and is on a number of company boards as well as being the Chair of Governors for Doncaster College.

He spoke at NottTuesday – one of Nottingham’s most successful meetups set up by Adam Bird of Esendex just a year ago. TechFlufftv went along to speak to startups from the area and ask Rob for his top tips for entrepreneurs.
